Leslie Johnson is a native Houstonian who graduated from Cy-Fair High School. Afterward, she attended Baylor University and, through diligence and hard work, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Economics from the University of St. Thomas here in Houston, Texas. Driven by her passion to be a lawyer, Leslie continued her studies at South Texas College of Law and graduated in 1997.
Upon earning her J.D., Leslie was hired by Michael Fleming at the Harris County Attorney’s office. An incredible talent and an asset to the office, Leslie was the youngest lawyer to be hired directly from law school into the trial division of the Harris County Attorney’s office. While in the trial bureau, Leslie gained plenty of trial experience defending public officials.
After observing Leslie’s outstanding trial skills, a litigation firm hired her away from the Harris County Attorney’s office. Leslie developed a deep passion for criminal defense and went to work at a criminal defense law firm before founding Johnson, Johnson & Baer P.C. with Dane and Alan.
Today, Leslie utilizes her extensive background specifically to defend people charged with DWI and other alcohol-related offenses. She is a member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association, State Bar of Texas – Criminal Law Section, and Houston Bar Association – Criminal Law Division. Additionally, she is certified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and to this day continues to stay up to date through legal education seminars on intoxication, field sobriety tests, and breath test machines.
Leslie Johnson is recognized and respected among local attorneys in Texas for her results defending DWI cases. Johnson has been recognized by H-Texas Magazine (2009-2014) as one of Houston’s Top Criminal Defense and DWI Lawyers.
